March 16, 2024 | Animal Head and Tooling Workshop - Gerald Franklin is teaching a 2d Animal Head and Tooling Workshop on Saturday, March 16th from 9am to 5pm at his workshop in Norman. Students will forge two hot-cut chisels, two fullers, two fullering swages, three round tapered punches, and a side set which will then all be used to create a 2d bear face. These same tools and techniques are used for numerous other animal heads in both 2d and 3d and will provide a solid foundation for more advanced techniques and future classes. There are only 2 slots left. Cost is $100.
Signup before you miss out: https://square.link/u/Ex8uzlk7 This is not a beginner’s workshop. You should be able to forge wedge-shaped, round, and square tapers to a specified dimension, and work without constant supervision. If your heat-treating skills are a little rusty, don’t worry, there will be a refresher course before we heat-treat anything. Both propane and solid fuel forges will be available in the shop. You do not need to bring any tools, anvils, or similar but are of course welcome to bring your preferred tongs, hammers, chisels, etc... Please email any questions about the workshop to Gerald: BlackBullForge@yahoo.com | ||
